My students are learning about the importance of honey bees to their everyday lives as well as their importance to agriculture. As part of the projects, we are working to build an apiary on campus for the students to learn hands-on with honey bees. To begin the project we will need hives, frames, supers, and hive tools to have a safe home for the honey bees. "Build the Bees" gives our students a foundation to start implementing the honey bee program on campus which they would like to use to educate students from Pre-k through 12th grades as well as the community. This is the first step in implementation of the "Build the Bees" project.
