Our students are excited to perform. Ukuleles will bring a wonderful new experience to our music classroom. It will let our students be creative while at the same time learning new musical concepts. Currently my students have had the normal general music experience. I want to bring them something exciting and new that will allow them to not only learn music but culture and most importantly help ignite a love for music and performance.
The ukuleles that I have selected for our students are great starter instruments that will give them the full educational experience on the instrument, from tuning to replacing strings and most of all making music.
Our goal for this year will be to begin our program with our 3rd through 5th graders. That's over 200 students. Everyone will begin at the same starting point. But as we progress through the years we will be able to have beginning and advanced groups. We will culminate the year with a cultural celebration, accompanying other various activities with our ukulele music. We are so excited to get started with this program.
