There are six students with diagnosed ADHD in my classroom and five others that are undiagnosed. There is constant noise and energy flowing through the room which can be unsettling for students that need peace and quiet to concentrate best.
The two pair of headphones and two weighted blankets (2 pounds each) that are used daily by all students are not enough. The two pound blanket works for two of the students but is not heavy enough for the others.
The headphones are shared by all students. Some need the headphones to make the noise in their heads quiet and others need them to keep the sound of neighbors quiet. Both groups need them to be able to concentrate and focus.
When I asked the students who would like a pair of the headphones if they could have one to use every day, 20 hands went up immediately.
