The Kitchenaid mixer requested would make a huge difference in our classroom. Our students struggle every day with issues but for some, they are also required to know the basic life skills they need to be successful in their lives. We teach basic life skills to our kids daily including folding laundry, hygiene, and just daily household tasks. We do several cooking projects during the year during our math lessons to teach the kids how to measure and count out ingredients. I am currently bringing my own heavy Kitchenaid mixer to school for these projects and to have one that belonged to the class would allow us to do these projects more often. The kids love our cooking assignments and they are learning at the same time! Also, having this in the school allows it to be utilized by other students throughout the building to use for projects in their classrooms. As a classroom, we are trying to build our supplies to teach these life skills to our kids and this would only add to our resources to be able to do this.
