Each student in the classroom have different needs. Due to funding we do not have the variety of materials that would help benefit students to learn in different and unique ways.
The sensory toys can be used a coping mechanism, to help them learn their numbers, their letters, and sight words. Some students also require sensory breaks that will help them get through a routine and also help to decrease maladaptive behaviors.
Our biggest need in the classroom is creating variety for our students. Students motivations varies throughout the day and having items that are reinforcing to them will increase learning opportunities. Having these requested materials in our classroom will help our students meet their individual needs and goals.
