Play games and have fun! Kids get to have fun and learn at the same time! The educational games I have selected will reinforce skills that have been taught through lessons by providing practice in identifying context clues, distinguishing facts and opinions, making inferences, strengthening vocabulary, and building math fact fluency by becoming detectives trying to solve a case!
These materials will give the students an opportunity daily to strengthen and practice skills in both reading and math, and all games support the Common Core Standards and will also help prepare students for state testing in the spring.
In addition to touching base and reinforcing all of these skills, the games will also give my kids an opportunity to learn some social behaviors with their classmates such as how to be a good sport whether you win or lose the game.
