My role as a Title I teacher is to try and not only catch the students up to their peers and close that achievement gap but to help them discover what tools they need to effectively learn in the future. Many of my students struggle from different types of attentional issues, whether they are genetic or induced from not having the ability to expend their natural energy levels.
These flexible seating chairs will allow their bodies to move so that they can focus their attention on what we are learning. We are lucky enough to have one ball right now from my house, and I have seen the positive effects it has on the student that has it for the day. My heart breaks when I can't let all the students in my group use one, when we have discovered how well it works for them.
