Many students have few or no books at home. Reading can be entertaining as well as therapeutic. Books benefit students academically as well as socially and emotionally. Many of my students are two or more grade levels behind and need to discover books that interest them, so they are motivated to read. Their access to books at home is very limited, and they do not have the opportunity to visit a school or classroom library due to COVID. Kindles will give students access to many high interest books, and they will help students develop a love for reading!
