Filling my library with a rich variety of book series will help get students engaged in finding a favorite series or author. If students can find a type of book or a series that they love they can become life long readers.
The students will use the classroom library during independent reading and during center time. I will also be able to select books from the library when teaching a certain skill like parts of a story. Each student can get a book that interests them but still figure out the parts of a story. Instead of having to assign all students the same books.
