Students are working to raise awareness for the protection of various foliage and fauna unique to rainforests. Creating large scale paintings of various species of tropical plants indigenous to warm regions around the earth is the focus. To this end, I am requesting donations for a color printer.
In order to create their paint palettes, students must first use a color photo as reference. Once students have a colored photo, they can then mix paint to match and use those colors in their artwork to best capture their selected subject matter. To have colored photos available to print out would be a tremendous help in assisting them identify subtle differences in hue in this project and subsequent lessons as well. it is my hope that the students' work will not only benefit them and the rainforests they seek represent, but can serve to showcase their message in and around our school as permanent installations.
