Having rigorous and grade level appropriate books such as these will allow my students structure during independent reading time as well as a common book to meet about once a week.
By providing students with book club books, I will know exactly what they are reading and how I can apply each of their individual books to corresponding lessons within my classroom.
Having a set number of books also allows my students a great amount of structure when reading, which they deeply crave.
Additionally, these books will give my students an outlet to practice communication skills through book club discussions.
