My students need real-life experiences to build functional and social skills. This project would help support this through serving coffee to elementary school staff. Students will develop independence in counting money, making eye contact while speaking with others, and following multi-step directions to complete a task.
This is a great opportunity for my students to become strong leaders within the school community and build confidence in themselves. By experiencing work skills early on in life, they will develop a sense of pride that will hopefully grow as they further their educational career.
