These materials will make the difference in my project because they will allow us to do various think, share, pair activities which will hone their writing and comprehension skills, as well as provide them with the necessary tools to successfully complete this project! The 3 subject notebooks will be their preparation journal for the actual book report. One section will be for the rough draft, the other will be for note taking on specific SEs (student expectations), and the last for printouts. The anchor chart paper will be for providing visuals to help guide them with independent practice. The mini dry erase boards will be for guided practice and group activities to give a fun activity that will be centered on student expectations.
Many of my students do not come from economically affluent households. I have personally had to provide general school supplies, such as book bags and pencils, and so I do not want to pass this burden on to the students. This project will also build on their confidence levels because I am sure that once we have the necessary tools and supplies, each student will successfully write a well-reasoned book report.
