Using Scholastic News Magazines in our classroom weekly helps my students practice their reading skills while they are learning about important topics that relate nicely to our reading, math, science, health and social studies curriculum. Everyone in the room gets excited because you are drawn in by the pictures, words, and activities related to the topic for the week. Furthermore, it lends itself into wonderful discussions that might not happen otherwise. These magazines also provide a technology link so we can pull it up on our Smartboard. This is the perfect addition to our classroom to get students excited about learning!
