Safe seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make learning less stressful. During independent work times, my students are worrying more about their seats, then their art work. This is occurring because my stools have hydraulics, which are broken and are too expensive to replace, their chairs are constantly moving up and down on their own and sometimes my students get trapped and hurt under the high tables.
It is important for students to feel comfortable and safe when creating their art work. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are in chair/stools that do not move up and down while they are trying to draw and paint. The product that I have selected will help my students by giving them seating that will help them focus their attention on learning and creating rather than being worried about getting hurt. These would also allow my younger students access to the art tables, which I currently find far to dangerous for first and second grade artists.
I have seen how safety can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that the additional seating will help us grow even more!
