Music is beautiful to listen to if it is in TUNE. We are working toward having 30 tuners with a microphone for our students to check out during class. I teach 200 students across 5 classes and about 50% of my students can afford their own tuner. The other half are unable to have this device. Our goal is to eventually have enough as a class set for those students to use during their class time.
The microphone attaches to the instrument and through vibrations provides real-time information to the student if they are sharp, flat or in tune. When tuning 60+ students in one class, the tuner may pick up other people and not just the person in front of the tuner.
