At our first book club meeting I involved the students in the selection of our books for this year and one of the books we decided upon, "A Night Divided," is written by a local author. I have reached out to the author, Jennifer Nielsen, and she is willing to come to our schools when our group meets to discuss her book. She is also willing to include other classes for her presentation so we will be able to involve as many as 140 students.
This book club project will address Literacy, Language and History subjects as well as Applied Learning pedagogy. The book club students are so excited to have this opportunity to meet an author, ask questions and feel inspired. Please consider our project.
