In PreK young minds work each school day to recognize letters in order to learn what their names look like, recognize what words look like and knowing those words will help students to read. Looking at letters in different print would help students to remember what the letters look like and how to recognize them.
The benefits of early literacy include vocabulary building, brain development, emotional awareness and academic success.
Young children that are introduced to reading at an early age tend to read earlier than children that do not. Reading, rhyming, singing, and talking in young children that begins early tend to influence their literacy and language development.
Developing early literacy skills makes it easier for children to learn to read. Children who enter school with these skills have an advantage that carries with them throughout their school years and reading is an essential skill for success in school and in life. The use of these early literacy materials will allow my students to do with my help.
