All of my students have moderate to severe disabilities. Many of these students have trouble staying on task or often lack the motor skills to complete classwork as similar age peers. My students are more engaged and excited to learn with the use of manipulatives, games, and interactive programs. These materials help them learn new concepts that they usually do not use traditional methods. Our students need to practice simple math and reading skills, learn colors, sight words, improve knowledge in the areas of science and social studies. My students also need to improve social skills and what better way to do that than through practicing turn-taking, following directions, and cooperative play while playing games with classmates. Your donation will provide these students the hands-on manipulatives and games to keep them engaged and eager to learn and be successful in the classroom. Your investment will assist in providing our students with materials to teach problem-solving abilities, cooperation skills, and content knowledge. These essential areas are important for academic success, and also for prospering in the future. Without your generosity, we may not be able to offer these children all the support that they need to become independent learners that function successfully within our communities.
