For this project, I am searching out developmentally appropriate center items that are engaging for my students to use in exploration and learning. My students love spending time in our art center. I have supplied small paint sets for this center that my students loved. However, the smaller sets were harder for my students who are just learning to paint. The art easel with big cups and brushes will be much easier for my students to maneuver and enjoy. For our play dough center, I am asking for a barbershop set with 3 oz. play dough tubs. As my students are learning fine motor skills, they love molding the play dough with their hands. They use creativity to make lots of new things. I wanted to add some new materials to this center that will drive their imagination even further. Lots of my girls love playing with hair and I thought that a barbershop would be the perfect item to engage their interest while building fine motor skills.
