Please help us create a calming sensory area in our classroom. Children with sensory issues often struggle to cope with the world around them. Loud noises, bright lights, tags in clothes, physical touch, tactile play, or textured foods are just some of the things that can cause them extreme distress. These children have difficulty self-soothing and are prone to having meltdowns and tantrums.
The sensory area will help the students in our classroom stimulate their senses, learn how to calm down, and regain control of their emotions. We will teach the students how to calm down and express their emotions in more appropriate ways. We are in need of developmentally appropriate toys and sensory items to help us create a sensory area for the classroom.
The sensory toy fidget/stress relief toys will give the students something that they can squeeze in their hands to help them calm when they are upset. The fiber optic sensory lights kit, playlearn sensory bubble tube, and the slow roll visual tracker will help the students to visually stimulate their senses.
