At our school, we are teaching kindness. I am using this theme in my classroom to lift up my students and to help them lift up others. I also serve on the Social Emotional Support Team at the school.
I would like my students to share what we have learned about kindness, empathy, and compassion. The books purchased for this project would go towards a whole-school library in which classrooms could sign-out books about being kind. We would also purchase a suggestion box, which would allow students to privately write to their teacher, the social worker, or the principal about a struggle they are having. Lastly, the posters would be hung schoolwide to support our project. We feel this is an important topic to teach our friends and promote Kindness Begins with Me!
