Having these materials I will be demonstrate to my students that I, WE care about their well being and comfort, that their classroom is their second home and that we can meet their needs. having door mats to wipe their feet during rainy/wet season so they wont slip in class, tissue for a runny nose, hand sanitizer to clean their hands before lunch and clorox wipies to maintaining their tables clean.
Students will feel embraced, welcomed and comfortable, they will be able to concentrate on their academic and not about the classroom's "hygiene". These are basic yet necessary materials that the district, more often than not tends to run out, and the students are expected to eat without washing their hands (hand sanitizer), work on dirty desk (clorox wipes) and learn with a runny nose (tissue) and some do not have have the ability to bath daily therefore creating an odor i class (air wick) which students complain about and becomes a class disruption.
In addition, having supplemental material (grammar) workbooks to help those students who struggle with after school tutoring.
