Though things work out fine most of the time, I feel that I could better teach my students if I could use some Spanish as well. I am wanting to use the donations for a professional develop that allows me to learn some Spanish. I hope to develop some basic Spanish skills by the end of the school year. I really want to develop better relationships with my students and their families. Currently I have to schedule a translator and it feel so impersonal and its hard to get my points across. I always leave meetings feeling like the parents didn't get to ask me everything they wanted too. I want to change that.
