I love reading books in the art room, especially with the younger grades. It is such a good opportunity to learn more about an artist or a technique. I strive to bring some kind of visual learning to my classroom.
At the beginning of the school year, I would have students sit on the floor. Because my classroom is in the basement, the floor tends to be cold. The students also started getting upset when their clothes were getting dirty. 45 minutes in a seat is a long time for most young kids. The rug will give me an opportunity to let kids move around, watch videos and get story time back!
