The materials I am requesting will allow my students to access a much safer school experience through holding our classroom time in the outdoor classroom. Materials will need to be brought from inside to our outdoor classroom daily. The wagon will allow us to do this.
Being outside is beneficial to all children. It promotes an increase in large and small motor strength, an increase in sensory connections, and it nurtures thinking, exploring, and play.
By going outside, we will be increasing the distance between students while still promoting interactions between students and between students and their teachers.
Digging in the mud, chasing butterflies, observing an earthworm, and drawing a picture of what we just observed at our sit spots are just a few of the things we are hoping to do with our students. These activities and use of our outdoor classroom will help us educate happy and healthy children.
