Students learn reading, writing and math through the curriculum. When do students get a chance to play? When do they get a chance to explore their social skills? Students at the first grade level need a chance to explore, learn and use their creativity through the use of play.
Through social play with different manipulatives, my students will learn to share and work together. Both of these ideas are important in the success of every young child.
Students will be given a chance to use their social skills to interact with one another in a group environment. During this time, the students will work together to build and create new things using the different manipulatives, like LEGO, Magna-Tiles and Log Builders.
