This project will be used to provide the students an opportunity to believe in themselves at an early age. We will personalize each book that is given to our students by writing personal messages written by myself and my instructional assistant letting them know how proud we are of their accomplishments. I hope that they can look back and see how much we cared for them and believed in them.
My hopes are that they will be able to look back on this memento later in life and remember where their academic journey started! I want them to know that even 20 years later- we are still so proud of who they have become. The goal for my students who receive these books would also be to take what they have learned and apply it. We spend a lot of our time together learning about letters, colors, sight words, etc. This book is something they can use to do this. There will be words they are familiar with that will help emerge them into great readers.
