This will make a significant impact on student performance. Students will be able to hear the lesson that is presented to them on their computers, rather than staring at a screen and then hoping to answer the question correctly.
Students especially in middle school, benefit from hearing what is being read to them while reading along. Students work on a program called "iReady" that is tailored to their ability level. On the program there are characters who speak out loud and many students can't hear them. This hinders their chances of getting to the grade level they need to be on.
Students who cannot bring headphones to school or cannot afford to bring headphones are truly the ones who will benefit. Our location has a high poverty area and asking kids to go out and buy headphones is sometimes out of the question.
