Many of the students at my school are on "free or reduced lunch," meaning that it is a high-poverty population. The students enrolled in the program are in 11th and 12th, and we meet after-school once a week for an hour. There are approximately 20 students enrolled. They are highly motivated and enthusiastic when it comes to learning these instruments, with several of them coming into the music room before school for additional practice. We have a wide range of playing levels among the students, from absolute beginners to intermediate-level guitarists.
