All year, my students and I work incredibly hard to prepare for their end-of-course exams. However, they are finding it incredibly hard to stay motivated! The books, snacks, and art supplies are to provide my kids with rewards and prizes to show them their hard work is appreciated and remind them that it will pay off!
I cannot wait for the day when we have six weeks in front of us to learn and explore; the books in this project will add more LatinX reading to our student library to bolster interest in reading and show them their culture matters in our classroom.
Finally, I believe it is important to support the development and sustainability of teachers, too! The teaching materials in this project will enable me to continue my personal growth as an educator and make my classroom feel more welcoming to me, not only as a teacher but as an individual as well.
