My class has been talking for awhile now about how they would love to have a book club. With these sets of books, we would be able to do that but at a just right level for all students. Our book club would be run like a literacy circle. Students would have jobs within their group to complete.
One of the most important skills students learn at school is working collaboratively. Students would then report back to their circle and share their findings; summarize, character traits, unknown words, and visualization are just a few skills. These books with give them the chance to learn from each other in the way they each interpret the readings. This would be so beneficial to our classroom on so many levels!
