This project is very special to me. I teach 70 or more grade 6 students, in the content area of math. Teaching math is my passion and my goal is to ignite a love of math to my students. This project is one way that can help me assist to build a positive, active learning environment. My students thrive on hands-on materials and need tools to help assist with language barriers. Having math manipulatives and tangible tools in the classroom will give my students more ways to learn math in my classroom.
I will use these materials to create a balance math class where students are actively engaged in different center-based activities. This will help with differentiating my instruction. allow me time to work with small groups and provide students to use technology to access language they may not have.
