This year we are 100% online learning, including art! I can't imagine not using watercolors or oil pastels this year. These two items are used a lot in my classroom. They are a good introduction to the young students (TK - 3) in how to use a paint brush, how to mix colors and creating resists. And the older students like to learn new techniques with watercolors and blending with oil pastels. And both materials can be used for almost all projects. If we can't paint with acrylics then this is the next best thing to provide rich color and more options for our lessons.
Many of our families don't even have markers or crayons at home and our program is funded completely by donations and this year has been extra tough. I will be providing markers and crayons but would love our students to have access to the watercolor and oil pastels to enhance their learning and their art experience.
