This project is to provide flexible seating, STEM boxes, and school supplies for my students.
The flexible seating is critical for my students who have busier bodies than most students. They are constantly on the move at home and need someplace to let out their energy so they can focus on school. By allowing my students to fidget quietly, and in a safe way they are able to concentrate on doing their work.
STEM boxes are a valuable resource to help my students continue to expand their thinking. We have a lab block every day where students are able to explore how different types of materials work together, and how stuff works. This is everyone's favorite part of the day and I would like to provide more opportunities and materials for my students to explore with.
Basic school supplies such as paper, pencils, and coloring materials help my students and their families to not worry about coming to class prepared every day. My students are primarily low-income and providing these resources helps to take the burden off the family and allows students to show up and succeed.
