Our reading rewards program will encourage students from ages 5- 13 to explore new reading options, build enthusiasm, and get students excited for reading. The more students read, the more points they get. I've created a rewards store where students can "buy" items with their points.
Reading provides an opporunity to learn, explore and grow. During this pandemic, we strive to give all students the same opportunities. Those who learn from home, will receive a store flyer with options. They choose the rewards they'd like to have, and we will send them home. The students who come to school in-person, will choose their items from our rewards store. Since the pandemic, my school library funds have diminished with no opportunity for fundraising such as book fairs. I'd like to get this initiative off the ground but lack the funding. I want to give my students an opportunity to learn, grow and explore even during these times of uncertainty.
