Recently, our Volleyball team was able to travel to a nearby school, where they had much nicer facilities than what they are accustomed to. Among the many amazing elements of the school the girls really coveted their "Elkay EZH2O Bottle Filling Station" in their gymnasium. This school had one of these stations at each water fountain and the girls just marveled over them.
These young ladies, and other students at our school, are permitted to carry a clear water bottle with them to their classes and a good majority of our students take advantage of this privilege! While in school they line up in front of the water fountains waiting for what feels like an eternity just to refill their water bottle.
Our fountains are outdated and flow very slowly in their old age. Having this ONE refilling station would not only filter the kids water, but it would also drastically decrease the number of students waiting in line and the number of tardys received by students each day. We have a well designed school building featuring a central rotunda where this bottle filling station will be easily accessible to all grade levels and students.
While there are many features the new school possessed that cannot be replicated here, this would be a small feature that would have a big impact on our students. I cannot wait to see the kids faces when they see their very own bottle filling station in the rotunda!
