As a first year teacher, my classroom and school have very few guided reading books for me to share with my class. We currently are limited to black and white paper copies that I make for them. These books are wonderful, but my class misses traditional bound books with color illustrations or photographs. Because of a lack of resources, the same books are used for whole class reading lessons, small group instruction, independent book bins, and take home books.
I would love to give my students the opportunity to read colorful, engaging trade books so they can experience a variety of print. Love for reading starts in Kindergarten and I want to give them every advantage possible!
