At our Title I school, we have high expectations for our students in spite of their life situations. Flexible seating improves student engagement, motivation, and gives them choices that traditional classrooms do not. I have started the transformation in my classroom by allowing students to sit or lay in the floor while working independently. The result has been astounding, but we need your help to purchase a rug and two floor seats. I will never ask my students to do something I am not willing to do and this includes sitting all day in a traditional chair. Once we get more seating options, students will have a comfortable place to work. I have seen tremendous growth in students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
