I am a paraprofessional in a special education classroom, in an inner city public school. My students learn best from having access to lots of additional hands on materials, tailored to their individual needs and learning goals. These two printers as well as the laminator, will allow me, and the Special Education teacher to create robust learning resources for our students for the years to come. For example, this will help us print out and laminate individual sight word cards, multiplication/addition/division cards, word work sorts, etc.
Studies have shown that special education students are one of the most vulnerable student populations during online learning, however, with these resources I believe we can continue to provide these students with quality education they deserve. Due to COVID, our school is entirely remote until at least April 8th. As a result, we currently do not have easy access to our school's printer/copy machine. This has made it challenging to print out engaging, hands-on activities for our students. With your help, both the special education teacher and myself will have access to the printers, laminator, and paper necessary to make meaningful learning possible.
