Students can be given snacks for the weekend!!
Students that are not hungry will do significantly better in social environments as well as academically. If they are hungry, that is their primary focus and school is not a priority. The food I will be able to give them with help alleviate the thoughts of hunger, and hopefully lead to academic success.
When my students come in to talk to me about struggles they are having with other students, academics, or their home life they always say, "Do you have something for me to eat?" I would love to say yes!
