A sensory room is like a needed escape for my kiddos. My students have various sensory needs. With a sensory area this would provide a place for my students to relax, self soothe, and help prepare them to learn throughout the day. Could you imagine a quiet, relaxing, space of your own to just step away from everyone? A sensory room is a therapeutic space with a variety of equipment that provides students with special needs with personal sensory seeking output/input needs to rest, become focused, and gather themselves to participate in class lessons and socialize with others. The sensory area in the classroom will be a space where they can go any time throughout the day to try and help with their sensory desires. My amazing students would be extremely grateful to have a quiet, soothing place to call their own.
