Due to the national pandemic, my students will begin the school year learning remotely until it is safe to have in-person teaching. I would like to create a space that my students find warm and welcoming upon return.
I am seeking to find a comfortable and colorful rug for my wonderful incoming students. We spend much of our day on the rug completing many academic areas, including morning meetings, interactive read-alouds, math number of the day, phonics, and many other activities. A new, clean, properly spaced rug will make all the difference for my first grade students. They will not have to worry about the taped lines coming up each time they step or sit on the rug. I will not have to worry about pausing my lessons to redirect students from pulling up the pre-taped lines. The bright colors will entice them to join whole group lessons with excitement by allowing the children to have their own colored square to sit in with fewer distractions and their own personal space.
My first-grade classroom is also a busy place.
It is also one that requires a multitude of materials for little learners. The new shelving will help keep the classroom materials organized. Organization is key in any early childhood classroom! Students will be able to find and put away materials in the see-through labeled bins for faster transitions and more time on learning.
Please lend a hand in supporting my students towards achieving academic success!
