Working with students with emotional disturbances requires special and creative incentives and motivators. My students all work on a positive behavior plan, and I freely use positive reinforcement.
Almost everyone can agree that students love working for tablet time, and think sitting in the teacher's chair is a special treat! My students are able to save points in order to "purchase" tablet time, or a day in the teacher's chair. I currently do not have a tablet, and the cooler the chair, the better the incentive! I hope to motivate my students to work hard with these awesome (and fun!) options.
