I want to educate my students on the importance of technology in modern day agriculture. Precision farming has changed the way we grow food for the world. GPS systems are used in agriculture to mark locations of importance, map fields, sample soils, locate weeds, analyze water availability, plant crops, route tractors and other equipment, and much more. GPS systems allow those in agriculture to work in low visibility situations. I want to teach students in my agriculture science classes how to use a GPS and calculators to solve real-world problems. These tools can be used to earn scholarships in FFA contests such as Environmental and Natural Resources and AgriScience Fair.
