My students work daily with individualized curriculum on iPads. Having headphones would help them to ignore distractions and be able to focus fully on their own work. It would also allow me to work with an individual or group of students undisturbed. It is difficult to conduct a small group with sound coming from 25 different iPads.
Struggling readers have a hard time recognizing and producing what letters and/or letter combinations produce certain sounds.
With having magnetic letter tiles to chose from, these students will start to build a stronger phonological awareness foundation. Research shows that students with a strong phonological awareness foundation in 1st grade will be stronger readers by the time they reach 3rd grade. This equipment will give my students a helping hand to reach benchmark in reading.
