I teach 4th, 5th and 6th grade student with a wide variety of disabilities. These disabilities range from ADHD to Traumatic Brain Injury to Autism and Mental Retardation. They attend a regular public school and are mainstreamed as much as possible. Our school district is in a very low socioeconomic area. A lot of the students in our area do not get many experiences outside of school. They are very excited to learn and are rarely absent as they love school. I love to see their faces and reactions when they learn something new or if one of their classmates meets a goal. They are not only encouraging to each other but encouraging to me.
