The students that I serve are from a low socioeconomic area. They're also middle school students. Middle school students experience difficult transitions from elementary school to middle school. Most students still enjoy having flexible seating, however it is not typically provided at the middle school level. The desks selected above will be the first step in offering a flexible seating choices in the classroom.
Additionally, the students will be able to engage in project based learning, STEAM skills, group talk, and small group instruction. These tables are the first step in a larger goal to bring engagement, variety, and choice into my middle school classroom.
