Staying focused and on task all day is hard for little brains and bodies and can be especially difficult for students who have attention and behavioral issues. A sensory path is an excellent "brain break" for students to get their wiggles out or a way for them to recharge if they're feeling sluggish.
A sensory path will allow students to get out their energy, deal with their emotions and regain their focus. The goal is to have them ready to return to class after completing a series of obstacles that connect the brain and body.
Studies have shown that sensory paths also aid in developing motor skills, balance, and hand-eye coordination.
