With technology rapidly growing more than ever, speech-language pathologists now have the ability to access thousands of speech therapy apps in just a click of a button.
Adding this iPad to my classroom will allow my students to participate in various fun and exciting play-based therapy games/activities that will provide learning opportunities in an assortment of areas including speech sounds/articulation, expressive language, receptive language, pragmatic language, fluency, and more.
Additionally, I have up to five students who have difficulty using spoken language to communicate. Research has shown that the iPad continues to provide innovative ways for children with cognitive-language disabilities to communicate more effectively. Having an iPad in my classroom would be helpful for these individuals as it would provide a means to supplement verbal speech via various augmentative and alternative communication programs/software.
